Hitting all the flavour notes with the signature five-spice powder and Hoisin sauce marinade, they’re perfect for family dinners or special occasions. Here’s how you can make this delicious Chinese pork ribs recipe at home.
In a bowl, add soy sauce, honey, ketchup, brown sugar, Chinese wine, Hoisin sauce, and Chinese five-spice powder. Mix until well combined.
Place the ribs in a large zipper freezer bag, and pour in the marinade.
Seal the bag completely, turning it a few times to thoroughly coat the ribs.
Set it in the fridge for 4 hours to let it marinate.
Remove the ribs from the bag and drain.
In a slow cooker, add the marinade to the crock along with the ribs. Set to the lowest temperature and let it cook for 6 hours.
Meanwhile, add honey, garlic powder, soy sauce, and Hoisin sauce in another bowl. Mix until combined.
After 6 hours, transfer the ribs out to a rack. Glaze the ribs with the mixture using the pastry brush, coating it completely.
Transfer the glazed ribs into the broiler and let it broil until the glaze begins to bubble.
Remove from the broiler. Transfer the ribs to a plate and serve!
