Sustainable Food
Food can have a big impact on the environment. Agriculture, for instance, accounts for up to a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions while food waste is also a pressing issue with 25% of food produced either lost or wasted in Southeast Asia.
Given these challenges, we are committed to providing a more sustainable food experience for our customers - from farm to fork.
Milestones

pandamart Food Donation
We have partnered with Foodlink Foundation and Feeding Hong Kong to donate surplus food from 18 pandamart stores. Since our launch in 2021, we have donated the equivalent of 29,502 meals to people in need as of March 2023.
Shark Fin Ban
Through signing WWF-Hong Kong’s No Shark and Ray Corporate Policy, we pledge to ban and remove all shark, ray and skate products from our platform. We have already removed more than 500 shark-related items from the menus of 145 restaurant partners on our platform and regular checks have been put in place.
Less Rice Menu Feature
Since 2021, we have worked with 588 restaurant outlets such as Cafe de Coral and Fairwood to add Less Rice options to their foodpanda menus.
As of March 2023, this feature has saved up to 7,927 kg of rice and noodles.
In 2023, we partnered with DBS Bank to integrate less rice in the menus of 316 additional restaurant outlet partners, as well as provide incentives for customers to order less rice and reduce food waste from May to October 2023.
